Celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Stelvio Pass, the “200 Stelvio” event brought together nearly 130 classic cars, 20 vintage motorcycles (including an appearance by Senate Vice President Gian Marco Centinaio), and an equal number of historic bicycles. Organised by the Automotoclub Storico Italiano with local support from “Valtellina Veteran Car” and “Veteran Car Team Bolzano,” and sponsored by the Ministry of Transport, RAI, and FIVA, the event showcased Europe’s highest paved road at 2,760 meters.

Notably, “200 Stelvio” was Italy’s first carbon-neutral motor event, featuring biofuel-powered historic vehicles and certified reforestation initiatives. Highlights included rare models from Audi Tradition, Bugatti, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, and more, with period cyclists evoking memorable Giro d’Italia races on this legendary route.

Engineered in the 1820s by Carlo Donegani, the Stelvio Pass, with its 88 hairpin curves and seven tunnels, has long captured the imagination of adventurers and automotive enthusiasts. Originally built as a military and trade route connecting Austria and Italy, it remains an enduring symbol of engineering brilliance and motor history.
