We are thrilled to announce ASPEN’s partnership with Porsche Sweden, supplying our latest environmentally friendly SUSTAIN fuel for the prestigious Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia and Porsche Sprint Challenge Scandinavia, two of the region’s premier racing series.
The multi-year agreement with Porsche Sweden centres on delivering our high-performance sustainable fuel. Aspen will supply SUSTAIN race fuel for the events, teaming up with Coryton a fellow Aspen Group company. The drivers will use SUSTAIN fuel containing 33% fossil-free bio derived components. This initiative aligns with Porsche Sweden’s vision of minimising the environmental impact of its racing series while maintaining the high-performance standards the brand is known for.
“Porsche has always been synonymous with racing. We want to manage that heritage and at the same time contribute to a transition that is long-term sustainable for the environment” says Anders Boqvist, Brand Manager, Porsche Sweden. “Introducing environmentally friendly fuel in our Scandinavian racing series is an effective way to reduce our local environmental footprint already next season.”
The collaboration between Aspen, SUSTAIN fuel and Porsche Sweden is long-term and the ambition is to gradually increase the fossil-free mixture up to 100 percent in order to further reduce the environmental footprint.
Claes Alin, CEO of Aspen said: “We are incredibly proud to be part of this project, The collaboration with Porsche Sweden has been going on for a long time, already in 2008 we supplied fuel to the Gothenburg City Race and since 2018 Aspen is the unit fuel for the Carrera Cup. It has contributed to the progress of the current project. Porsche Sweden, Aspen and Porsche Motorsport started discussions at Rudskogen Motorsenter in connection with both championships competing there last September, four months later we have an environmentally friendly fuel with no loss of power that is approved all the way for both the 911 GT3 Cup and 718 Cayman GT4 RS Club sports.“
Thomas Johansson, Sporting Director, Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia, commented; “Porsche has always been synonymous with racing. We want to manage that heritage and at the same time contribute to a transition that is long-term sustainable for the environment, says Anders Boqvist, Brand Manager, Porsche Sweden. Introducing environmentally friendly fuel in our Scandinavian racing series is an effective way to reduce our local environmental footprint already next season.
The collaboration makes it possible for us to continue running the popular racing series with as little environmental impact as possible.”
The 2024 racing season, featuring six events across Sweden, Denmark, and Norway, will showcase this collaboration’s impact on reducing the environmental footprint of competitive racing. The season kicks off at the Scandinavian Raceway in Anderstorp on May 3-4.
