The Mini Spares Fastest Mini in the World race is in its 29th year after its first race in 1994 which was held at Silverstone. Over the 29 years the race has grown in popularity and reaches a worldwide audience through live streaming and social media channels. This year’s race is being held at Brands Hatch on the 6th August as part of the Mini Festival.
As a race they are keen to be inclusive, progressive with always an ambition to innovate. For this year’s race the grid will be running on SUSTAIN Fuels. This is a great step to take at a club race level and deliver a ~50% reduction in carbon emissions compared to fossil fuel – great for the worldwide environment which truly underpins the integrity of the race to a worldwide audience.
Coryton has produced a range of sustainable fuels under the SUSTAIN, with up to 80% sustainable content. The specific fuel being used across all the classes of cars in the race is SUSTAIN 50. This is a 102 RON fuel that is tailored for superior performance, contains 50% sustainable content and has less than 1% ethanol, as it looks after the car and environment without compromising on power.

The Minis on the grid are all exceptional cars with fantastic levels of motorsport engineering. There’s a class for everyone, which supports the race objective of being inclusive and delivering driver and spectator enjoyment. The race itself has four classes and hosts a wide range power units ranging from : A Series 5, 7 & 8 ports, A Series 5 Plus, Vauxhall 16v, Ford Vtech (BDA), Suziki Hiyabusa, Kawasaki, Powertech V8 and not forgetting the addition of Turbos and Superchargers. In summary it demonstrates that Sustain Racing 50 can be used across a wide range of classic racing power units.
